Environmental Ponzi Scheme

A Ponzi scheme pays investors "dividends" from the capital of new investors. Eventually it collapses. The autosprawl system pays "dividends" in the form of profits for fossil-fuel, auto, and related companies. These are not real profits, they are stolen from our environmental capital. This scheme must be stopped. The quickest way is a mass movement for free public transportation.

Another environmental ponzi scheme is tearing down forrests or farms to plant tree seedlings and then claiming a reduction in carbon emissions as the "new" trees will "store" carbon dioxide. No one points out that when these trees die and rot or are cut and burned that all the carbon dioxide is released back into the atmosphere.

There was often no net reduction to start with and all the carbon dioxide goes back into the atmosphere. No net gain.
