The Professional Footballers' Association, Greater Manchester Fire Brigades Union, Bury NUT, Manchester NUJ & several local branches of UNITE The Union & UNISON are all supporting the call for Free Public Transport

Ireland: A typical car-based commuter spends about €1,500 a year on fuel just getting to and from work. Free transit has been implemented in some locations for a .6% increase in sales tax. One would have to spend €250,000 a year to pay in sales tax the €1,500 he/she is currently paying in fuel.
